The Orange County Flood Control District (OCFCD) was formed in 1927 to provide for the control and conservation of flood and storm waters, and for the protection of private property, waterways, public highways, and harbors. Maintaining the engineered capacity of these channels is critical to protecting surrounding communities and is carried out by OCPW through a variety of maintenance activities.
